Unfortunately there's a lot that goes in to professional landscaping that is not appreciated. For example this mundane concrete shed base. It will sit and do its job for years. But its specific to this job. Because its set at a height so when the shed was installed there was the smallest possible threshold to allow for clients who may be slightly less agile.
Concept plan
Working from a plan is a good way for clients to have an understanding of what the finished garden will look like. And to alow the landscaper to understanding what the clients expect. Often plans will need to be altered due to unforseen obstacles or costs. And less often because of poor design choices.
Foundation for the future. If this stage of work is over looked or not paid attention to then all the work that comes next will be sub standard and will fail.
